lost angel summary from ch.38 till the end!

FINALLY BACK!

helllo everyone!
i've spent my time during the spring break reading the novel.well, i have to say the story has hidden many surprising events which created an atmosphere of excitement, anticipation, passion and sympathy...
Starting with billy, the spark of a disaster ellen faces, we find him the boy in the story who contradicted his physical appearance.although billy was handsome from the outside, there was another character from the inside, that of a despicable wretch! and here, we find his good-looking appearance a set up for ellen to be decieved by and get herself into a terrible misconception.
ellen got herself pregnant from billy, her PRINCE CHARMING, on her sixteenth birthday.she later felt contemptible towards herself and billy who then seemed as no one but a senseless teenager who played with her emotions.of course, what ellen had perpetrated was wrong, but becomes later a turning point in her life.(let's find out!)
as the story carries on, ellen's acknowledgement is finally revealed when gertie appears and with her the solution to all the recent problems the stone family has been facing lately. she offered a lodging, support and a new job (plant nursery) in a small village outside london. shocked by her daughter, hilda didn't have any other choice but to accept gertie's offer and move away from london which got her only misfortune.
after hearing the news, mabel was obliged to offer supporting ellen and her baby, but percy came up with the ideal solution and offered to marry ellen. wouldn't it be better for ellen to marry billy since he was the child's father?? well yes, but unfortunately billy got himself into trouble and was obliged to marry sheila.
percy, the charcter who didn't seem much handsome yet gentle and lovable, insisted to marry ellen(feeling guilty for letting billy walk ellen home and find the perfect time to commit his shameless action) , although his parents totally rejected the idea, as ellen was the girl of his dreams. percy married ellen but under one condition: that billy must never know that he's the child's father.
the family finally moved to a new cottage which created a new life with a new relief. a new character is introduced as a new neighbor whom hilda met called Valerie. Valerie seemed gregarious yet a bit odd with respect to hilda. she always got those peculiar feelings of hers.anyways, ellen and val were both pregnant, as ellen was going to give birth in august.the two women were very close friends who visited each other constantly.
after marrying percy, ellen always feared and worried that she might never love her husband, as she only liked him and not more than that, although percy was the "perfect" lovable and caring husband. when ellen gave birth to a baby girl whom she called "sarah", we find how an affectionate father percy was towards the new baby, although she wasn't his daughter.
ellen loved sarah and finally came to love percy as well after, billy, sheila, their son and billy's parents payed them a visit. during their visit, we see how selfish, arrogant, rude and senseless billy was towards sheila.therefore, billy's marriage was an advantage for ellen, as her outlook  towards percy  changed and  it was a privilege for her to marry him.
although ellen loved percy, what billy did years back created a feeling of unwillingness for lovemaking in her which lasted and built a brrier btw ellen and percy. thanks to hilda, this partition didn't last much as she was the person ellen resorted to ( a demeanor ellen must have used way back earlier )
after a year of sarah's birth, many things changed. ellen finally applied her mother's advice ( as she didn't want to lose her husband) and lived in a house of her own, breaking the fence btw. prcy and her .knowing previously that gertie is actually fond of  women, rumors about her and her new lover maureen , have pervaded the village, and so ellen grew worried for her husband and parents who worked for gertie, and may lose their jobs.
ellen feared that gerite may be kicked out of town, so she went with sarah to warn her. on her way, the most tragic event of the story takes place: ellen loses her daughter when being hit by a truck!(an event which caused the town to forget about gertie and focus on sarah's death)the poor ellen sank into a sea of depression, anguish, sorrow, pain, regret and morose. she was filled with melancholy and affliction as she wished she were dead, blaming herself for her daughter's loss. ellen rejected seeing val, knowing previously that val had a feeling of sarah not being able to go to school.val delivered her baby a week after ellen did and called her pauline. she was now pregnant again for six months.
time passed, and ellen started to get over this awful accident and visited sarah's grave with percy weekly replacing old flowers on her grave with new ones. knowing whether there's an afterlife or not became an obsession to ellen who saught the answer in a church and then in a spiritual church but never found it until a woman saw her and gave ellen her card to visit her.when ellen did, the woman read her palm and told her that she'll find peace in nature and that the answer to all her problems will be found close to her home. ellen found the woman's response a bit peculiar yet she didn't give up.she was told that she'll find goodluck and happiness and so she kept that in mind..
as the story continues, ellen finally brings happy news to her parents and tells them that they're having a grandchild whose father this time would be percy not billy. ellen realised that she mistreated her lovable friend, and so, decided to pay val a visit and put the past behind her.anyways ellen visited her old affable friend to make her happy with the recent news.feared to break ellen's heart with getting pauline to play in front of her, val wasn't sure until ellen assured val that it was actually fine with her. val got pauline and her new baby, robert, to play in front of them. while sitting and chatting with each other, the two women were disturbed by pauline's behavior when she asked her mom to get tea for her and erra (sarah). ellen was astonished and couldn't actually believe that her daughter was present.ellen finally found the solution to her concern and saw a butterfly which she thought was sarah and knew that after life, lies another life where her daughter lived happily....

the story LOST ANGEL  has taught us many aspects of life as kitty tried to deliver her message to every reader and persuade us that now matter how harsh our lives be, we should never give up hope. ellen and hilda represent two characters who faced many difficulties and obstacles, yet HOPE was their way to happiness and peace. moreover , i learned that people are judged from their internal appearance not their physical one. many grand lessons were delivered by neal, as she successfully kept us suspenseful throughout the story wanting to know what will happen to ellen, how will percy treat sarah, what did val's feelings point to, will billy find out the truth about his daughter and whether there was an afterlife or not.
i really enjoyed reading the story!
thank you mrs shabana ^_^

lost angel summary "21-30"

well, i can't say i'm not surprised by the unexpected events of thi story. here's a short summary which kept the story a tale of entertainment:
  • the conditions in london have become dreadful more than ever, and so hilda couldn't risk staying there and notevacuating ellen
  • unable to escape their fear, hilda and ellen were finally saved by gertie who offered them a free-rent cottage in hampshire. we recognize that gertie was actually the reason for hilda's feelings of being selfish for not evacuating ellen
  • hilda, unable to pick another option, immediately agreed, yet still feeling that she and ellen aren't absolutely on the safe track ( i think they'll like it there)
  • although hilda finally left to hampshire, the doubts and fearful thoughts of her husband and daughter didn't escape her head. hilda was later followed by mabel who as well faced the same adversities
  • hilda and mabel finally settled ,yet billy at the beginning wasn't that much satisfied by threir living, unlike ellen who wasn't longing to go back to london
  • mabel's son billy has has changed to a more decent boy who started to like the living in hampshire as he was obsessed with horses
  • one day, we are surprised by the event that doug is actually alive and so meets ellen and his beloved wife . doug has brought the life back to hilda who finally found her husband beside her and recognized that what actually the old woman (in london) said about doug is true
  • after knowing that the old woman's vision was true, ellen started to have many questions;moreover, ellen and her friend sheila visited a woman in hampshire who read stones.although sheila wasn't influenced by what the woman said ( grief , pain and  piece in ellen's life) , ellen remained curious to    know many things wich kept her in confusion
  • as time passed, ellen started  to realize her emotions towards billy who didn't give her a thought due to the fact that he has already given all his attention to the stables and horses.moreover, billy became a cause of the aloofness that formed btw. ellen and sheila, as ellen was jealous of her friend who started to spend more time with billy than she does with ellen
  • as the story continues,we are informed how hilda is over-protective towards ellen and still thinks that ellen is too young to know some facts about life. on the other hand, mabel thinks that ellen is old enough to know everything , though mabel sometimes , oblivious to ellen's presence, keeps chatting with hilda about things that kept ellen in ultimate cinfusion...
  • mabel didn't like doug's presence with hilda because it created an atmosphere of intolerance and an urge for mabel to go back to london , as mabel's room was next to hilda's. the problem was swiftly solved when mabel swapped rooms with ellen (that was hilda's suggestion for prventing mabel from going back and this shows the strong relationship btw. the two women)
  • ellen and sheila returned to be friends again, and so, ellen finally realized what kept her curious when she was told about lovemaking. ( i don't like this sheila.... she's a baaad girl!)
  • as tale goes on, we are informed that mabel's husband was wounded , and so, mabel rushed back to london to see her husband who was arriving soon.
  • ellen's mixed feelings towards billy made her upset, as she was devastated to say goodbye;however, billy was oblivious to ellen's emotions and replied nonchalantly to her farewell, as he was also irritated to go back to london
  • although ellen was depressed for billy's departure, she felt satisfied that her friend sheila wouldn't see him again....(that's more like it!! way to go ellen!)
  • it was finally victory in europe and a revel pervaded everywhere (finalllly!!!)
  • doug and ellen were ready to go back to london unlike hilda who hated going back to london because she was deluded by the thought that london actually brought her bad luck
  • we can see that ellen doesn't want sheila to be in contact with billy, as ellen was looking forward to go back to london( we can see ellen's character )
  • doug's back has brought him pain, yet he's only managing to hide it from his beloved wife and daughter
  • although ellen's parents didn't look forward for leaving hampshire due to the beauty craeted in the village, necessary needs forced them to leave , creating an atmosphere of excitement to ellen who was longing to see billy!
  • ellen finally arrives with her parents at london; she finds it worse than it was last time , yet she she was pleased to meet billy again
  • doug's painful back has become recognized as he kept hiding his pain from hilda( he really cares for his wife but too bad she knows)
  • although ellen always looked forward for meeting billy, she rarely had the opportunity to do so.
  • due to billy's constant irritating actions(because of his intention to go back to hampshire), his mother, mabel, wasn't sure of sending her son to hampshire , yet ellen only wished billy won't go back
  • we are introduced with more events as we are known that doug had fought with hilda over her getting a job. eventually, hilda decided to work whether her husband likes it or not!(she's more of a husband!)
  • back to billy and ellen, we find that billy quarreled with his parents over going back to hampshire.after a long discussion, billy finally wins the arguement , and therefore, ellen is devastated by the news
  • billy (an obstinate quarrelsome lad) had always given his anticipation and attention to the horses and not to ellen who felt so depressed by billy's departure and extremely jealous of sheila
  • we can say that ellen is still curious about the woman who read stones, although she was opposed by a lady in the church
  • we also find that doug's morose that hilda started to work
  • percy, billy's older brother, realizes his hidden feelings towards ellen, and so tries to get closer but is stopped by stopped by hilda who avoided him( i hate it when there's admiration from one side)
  • as chapter 30 ends, we find that gertie visited hilda and see how awful doug looks and so does hilda.
  • hilda still thinks that london has got her bad luck, yet she tries to make the best of it
  • gertie finds hilda , doug and ellen living an intolerable life, as she tries to assist them in any way and do her best
to be continued......

summary for chapters 4-10

here are some brief points for the chapters 4-10 and i hope you like the spices mrs shabana :-
  • hilda and her little ellen are settled at gertie's house as time passed and the worries have already started to disappear
  • hilda has seen an obvious change in her daughter as ellen grew up and became an increasingly-passionate lover of nature
  • knowing how anxious hilda is, we see how she misses doug and how intensely is she attached to him
  • doug suddenly appears infront of hilda (and here ch.4 ends)
  • ellen and hilda seemed elated with joy as doug's figure appeared (we analyse doug's personality as he seemd gentle and gregarious)
  • gertie,surprisingly, was irritated by doug's presence and somehow jealous ( i expected that :P )
  • although gertie managed to act and hide her passionate feelings and love for hilda, jealousy and ultimate compulsion occupied her ( NOW THAT'S NOT EXPECTED......IT'S DISGUSTING!!)
  • ellen was delighted to see her father , and therefore, forgot about the pigs wich were prepared to be sold by gertie
  • as ellen remembered that her little Pinkie was to be killed , gertie alleviated her by getting a kitten for ellen
  • doug seemed to love his family and care for their safety more than his own ( that was lucid when he quarreled with hilda as she desired to go back to london ) yet he was witty enough to realize a bit of gertie's uncomfort. but as he opened the subject with hilda, she opposed him and never even gave it a thought ( poor hilda. looks like she doesn't know anything about her "sister" gertie's feelings)
  • it was time for doug to leave and hilda is once again left in isolation
  • although ellen and hilda were shattered and broken for doug's departure, gertie was the happiest person that day( end of ch.5)
  • two years passed and it was ellen's second birthday in Somerset. she turned twelve and at that same day menstruated (she's too young for this!! ellen seemed naive about pubirty as she didn't have the slightest idea about this stage not even knowing what menstruation was called)
  • ellen was delighted by the prsents she's got but wished to share this revel with her father who sent her a letter and a wooden carved cat as a b.day present
  • delighted to celebrate her daughter's b.day, hilda went to the kitchen to get the cake (not the main point) and there approached a cryptic feeling which caused her to feel like someone was right behind her ( could it be true or is it an illusion? let's find out in the nxt ch.s)
  • ultimate zeal once again prevaded and was to be continued as hilda recieved a message from her beloved husband (poor gertie....you'll have to tolerate his arrival again)
  • gertie seemed to hate any subjects which reqired religions , ghosts and spirits as she was nonchalant by hilda's nonsense about what she felt in the kitchen  (gertie's father is required in her lack of interests in those stuff)
  • finally, doug arrived after two long years and with him an ultimate intolerance that gertie thought could be concealed again ( oops! looks like hilda is left with her deluded belief in gertie as both ellen and doug saw hatred in gertie's eyes)
  • doug's staying for three weeks which seemed too short for ellen and hilda and endless for gertie
  • although hilda had nightmares and recalled her mysteriour feelings, she managed to preclude them at least for the time being and enjoy every moment with her husband
  • as doug assured himself and believed that his expectations were right, he took into action and opened the subject which later turned into a quarrel btw hilda and him
  • during breakfast, hilda was extremely provoked and annoyed by her husband's "false delusion" towards gertie who barely spoke
  •  doug's apology to gertie and hilda didn't terminate his suspicions although he managed a lie and tried to make his tiredness as the main reason for this delusion (good one doug! looks like hilda trusts gertie more than what's expected)
  • to gertie's delight and ultimate satisfaction , the  three weeks has flung and doug had to leave his wistful family in gertie's hands as it was her honor to take his place(why do i feel that gertie is craeted as a woman by mistake??)
  • we finally reach ch.10 and are surprised to find ellen's temperature high which later appeared in gertie as well
  • hilda spent her time looking after both as she herself couldn't tolerate the exhaustion which never left her
  • when ellen fially feels better, hilda starts sufferng a serious infection which was realized by mrs. brandon , a lady from the village, as hilda was taken to the hospital
  • everyone hoped that hilda's situation would be alleviated and inhanced as was expected and assured by the nurse (they always tell lies..)
  • gertie finally realizes that the villagers' concern for hilda led to her survival as hilda herself was genial towards them
  • gertie regreted th fact that she disdained those villagers ( she was aloof until hilda appeared) yet she didn't want any more intrusions in her life (this woman is a friek!!)
